It’s time to take part again in one of the most important civic duties for any American.
Voting.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4 for the state primary election to wean down party candidates at the local, state and federal level. The contests range from township trustees to county sheriff to seats in Congress.
Voters also will make choices on myriad tax proposals, many related to schools but others related to specific area issues, such as 911 funding.
MLive has compiled a list of local ballot issues and candidates in eight regions of the state where it has local reporting teams and packaged them into a handy voter guide.
